Sara Brodie
Background
Born in Christchurch, Sara trained as a dancer, and spent eight years working in theatre in Europe. On returning to NZ she gained a Master of Arts in Theatre from Victoria University, Wellington.
Directing credits
include the Kreutzer (STAB), Polly (NZSM), Fatal Desire (Asia Pacific Festival, 2007), Die Fledermaus (Opera Hawkes Bay, 2006), La Boheme (Opera Hawkes’ Bay& Wanganui Regional Opera, 2004/5), My Fair Lady (Napier Operatic 2005), The Tempest (Summer Shakespeare, Welllington Botanic Gardens 2004)
Assistant direction & choreography credits
include Lucia di Lammermoor (NBRNZO 2007), The Magic Flute (English Pocket Opera Co., 2005), The Elixir of Love (International Festival of the Arts& NBRNZO) 2004, Messalina (Festival di Batignano, Italy, 2002), Frida & Diego (Arcola Theatre, London).
