The Opera School motto in Latin is ‘Nihil tumultus tantum opera’ which translated is ‘Minimum fuss, maximum work’ and the New Zealand Kokako is chosen for the logo because it has beautiful, clear, organ-like song. Public Performances during the Opera School

As well as having full schedules of vocal and stage training The School also produces several public performances which not only enable the students to become more relaxed and familiar with performing in front of an audience, but also gives the public the chance to enjoy the students' talents and to observe their development.

The Masterclasses with Professor Paul Farrington also gives the public an insight into the problems singers face and the way these problems are overcome.
